He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie McLeroy (Elbert) and Myrtle McLeroy; his siblings, J. P. McLeroy and Doris Whisenate; and his father-in-law Bertram Tidwell.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl McLeroy; his sons, Joseph McLeroy (Beth) of Moody and Eric McLeroy (Ashley) of Hayden; his grandchildren, Landon McLeroy, Patrick Ingram, Cameron Ingram and Emily Ingram; his sister Caroline Staton of Hayden; and his mother-in-law Edwina Tidwell.
