He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cleveland Hassig and Lydia Froelich Hassig; his grandson Broughton Smith; and his siblings, Carl (Jeff), Ted, Paul, LeRoy, Arch, Art, Herman, Esther and Bertha.
He is survived by: his wife Lois St. John Hassig; his children, Amy Hassig Smith (Mark) and Brad Hassig (Lori); and his grandchildren, Harry, Camille, Lauren, Bridon and Christian.
The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions honoring the life of Donald Raymond Hassig be directed to a cause very dear to Don, the Jimmie Hale Mission located at 3420 2nd Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama 35222.
