He was predeceased by: his mother Adele David; his brother Raymond Joseph David; his son Donald Raymond David, Jr. (Athena); and his granddaughter Kathryn Anne David. He is survived by: his wife Celeste David; his daughter Dia David; his grandchildren, Kiersten Adele David and Dylan Donald David; and his sister Susan David Willis (Charley).
