She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Francis and Elizabeth Francis; her husband Jerry Walter Akers; and her son Joseph Akers. She is survived by: her daughters, Jodi Skaggs (Todd) of Pelham and Cheri McCoy (Tracy) of Vestavia Hills; her daughter-in-law Cindy Akers of Jacksonville, Florida; her sister Joanne Francis Williams of Columbia; and her grandchildren, Laren Skaggs, William Skaggs, Mary Katherine Leos (McCoy), Sarah Leos (McCoy), Sam Akers and Natalie Akers.
