He is survived by: his children, Barbara (Cecil Duffee, III) and Charles Bartlett Bretz (Wrenn); his grandchildren, Carl F. Bretz, Elaine Duffee Lewellyn (Ben), Anne Duffee, Catherine Bretz and Laura Bretz; and his great grandchildren, Benjamin Bretz, Jack Bretz, Connor Bretz and Jack Shea.
