He was predeceased by : his parents, Luebirda Hatter and Herman Hatter Sr.; and his siblings, Bernice Witherspoon, Herman Hatter Jr., James Hatter, Mack Ware and Florine Wright.

He is survived by : his sisters, Annie Hatter and Kathy King; his aunt Dixie Napier; and his son Michael Croom. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Westside Funeral Home (5695 Valley Rd, Fairfield, AL 35064). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, June 22nd 2024 at the Valhalla Cemetery (839 Wilkes Rd, Birmingham, AL 35228).
