He is survived by: his sons, James Wheat of Berry, David Wheat (Anita) of Berry and Mark Wheat (Melanie) of Berry; his sister Bertha Sue Wheat of Fayette; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Reed (Michael), Ellis Wheat, Noah Wheat, Anna Wheat, Meladee Dent, Mady Plowman, Myles Bush, Jake Caldwell (Autumn Brooke) and Rachel Caldwell; his great grandchild Collins Reed; and his sister-in-law Melba.
