She was predeceased by: her husband Sammie Smith; her sons, Wade Smith and Randy Smith; her parents, William Patterson and Miriam Hallman Patterson; and her siblings, Rayburn Patterson (Elmina), Sim T. Patterson (Elouise), David Patterson (Barbara), Clarice Harbin (Buford), Juanita Gray (Cecil), Nell Hixon (Jim) and Oleta Hayes (Andy).
She is survived by: her sons, Ricky Smith (Tammi), Tommy Smith (Teresa) and Bryan Smith (Tonya); her grandchildren, Jeremy Smith (Robin), Kerri Gay (Neal), Kasey Burroughs, Summer Potts (Don), Daniel Smith (Ryan) and Teia Appling (Rusty); and her siblings, Gene Patterson (Vernamae), Kendall Patterson (Joy) and Sylvia Beasley. She is also survived by great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to Hospice of West Alabama, or New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
