He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rushing and Jewel Rushing; his siblings, Olean Gunter and Johnny Rushing; and his nephew Sammy Rushing.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Rushing; his sister Barbara Jo Pounders; and his sister-in-law Lona Rushing. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
