It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James A. Whitman Jr. (Bear Creek, Alabama), who passed away on November 28, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur Whitman, Sr. and Bartlee Galloway Whitman; his parents-in-law, Athel and Nina Godsey; his children, Jerry Whitman and Punk Whitman; and his siblings, Betty Boatwright, Thomas Whitman, Ronny Whitman and Imma Gean Lovett.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Whitman; his children, Johnny Whitman, Jimmi Owen, Jeff Whitman, Annette Burleson Baugus, Gean Goodwin, April Sedun, Eric Skelton, Jason Skelton and Marc Skelton; and his sisters, Glenda Fay Vickery, Charlott Pruitt, Kathy Jones and Judy Whitman. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
