It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Stewart (Bay Minette, Alabama), who passed away on February 10, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Stewart and Grace Phillippi Stewart; his wife Lavon Hamilton Stewart; his siblings, Sam Edgar Stewart (Betty Hadley Stewart), Edith Stewart Hill and Larry Russell Stewart; his brothers-in-law, Claude Lindsey and Maynard Coleman; and his nephews, Ted, Mickey, Danny Stewart and Joey Sanks.
He is survived by: his children, Melvin Samuel Stewart (Mark Nichols), Sharon Lavon Stewart (Dean McGowan) and Jason Hamilton Stewart (Nycole Howard); his grandchildren, Tucker Hamilton Stewart, Julia Elise Trawick, Olivia Claire Trawick and Sydney Nycole Stewart Davis (Jordan); and his siblings, Elmer Stewart (Shelvia), Jean Coleman, Yvonne Niblack (Charles), Maxine Lindsey and Glenn Stewart (Sylvia). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the William Dixon Brooks Scholarship Fund, 209 1st St., Bay Minette, AL 36507.
