She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Hamilton and Mary Brooks Hamilton; her son Frank Willard Propst; and her siblings, Irene Jurjevich Cornelia (John), Thelma Hamilton, Virginia H. Burkett, Charles Hamilton, Joseph Hamilton (Lilace), Howard Hamilton and John Thomas Hamilton.
She is survived by: her husband Melvin Stewart; her children, Melvin Samuel Stewart (Mark Nichols), Jason Stewart (Nycole) and Sharon Stewart (Dean McGowan); and her grandchildren, Tucker, Sydney Stewart, Julia and Olivia Trawick.
The family requests that donations be made in her honor to the William Dixon Brooks Scholarship at First Bank or Perdido Elementary Library Fund.
