He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ezra and Katherine Ryland Salter; his parents-in-law, James and Louise Mattei; his granddaughter Kayla Salter; and his brothers-in-law, Buddy Roley and Wayne Parker.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Mattei Salter of Bay Minette, AL; his sons, Travies Salter (Alicia) of Stockton, AL and Dwight Salter (Deidra) of Stockton, AL; his stepson Cary Mattei (Kelly) of Charlotte, NC; his sisters, Elaine Roley of Bay Minette, AL and Faye Parker of Daphne, AL; and his brother-in-law Jim Mattei (Sharon) of Bluffton, SC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four nephews and one niece.
Although the family will accept flowers, they suggest memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3564 Butler Street, Atmore, AL 36502.
