He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Bubnick Akins of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Artie Akins (Becky) of Kennedy, AL, Christy Mosley (Darrel) of Bay Minette, AL and Misty Styron (David) of Bay Minette, AL; his grandchildren, Joseph Lee Akins (Amy) of Sulligent, AL, Steven Ross Caraway of Pine Grove, Hali Nicole Lynn (Jon) of Stockton, AL, Allison Renee Akins of Rabun, Shae Vanhuss, Devin McGhee (Coley) of McCullough, AL, Tommy Hodges of Vernon, AL, Marcia Sanskar (Jesse) of Vernon, AL and Rebecca White (Tony) of Bay Minette, AL; and his great grandchildren, Mia Akins, Sara Lynn, Brelynn Caraway and Samuel Joseph Miller.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner's Transportation Fund.
