He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Lane and Bessie Beasley Lane. He is survived by: his wife Josephine "Jo" Smith Lane; his siblings, Harold, Melvin, James, Ray Clinton, Bill, Charles, Wayne, Joyce Davis, Shirley Conway and Lois Summerlin; his nephew Joe Lane (Angela); his children, Teresa Lane Gibbs (Mark C.) of Rabun and Jack C. "Cliff" Lane of Tecumseh, NE; his stepchildren, John Dennis (Robin) of Risen, AR, David Dennis (Lisa) of Lamar, AR, Vickey Edge-Correa of New York, NY and Sherry Dennis of Milton, FL; his grandchildren, Kristen Callan (Adam) of Daphne, AL and Zackary Gibbs of Bay Minette, AL; and his great grandchildren, Hayes Cook, Harper Cook, Bentley Day, Connor Callan and Piper Callan. He is also survived by five step grandchildren.
