He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Raymie and Fannie Irene Buck Plato; his granddaughter Lacy Bryars; his former wife Dorothy M. Plato; and his wife Pauline Smith Plato.
He is survived by: his children, Regina Irene "Gina" Rhodes of Foley, AL, Merry Adelle "Dell" Pierce of Elberta, AL, Howard Louis "Bubba" Plato (Renee) of Pine Grove, Edith P. "Edie" Averitt (Joey) of Pine Grove and David Barry Plato (Jodie) of Pine Grove; and his siblings, Winnall Plato (Rosalyn), Major Plato (Linda) and Hazel Hawkins of Bay Minette, AL. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
