He is survived by: his parent Ruth Byrd Laye; his children, Melissa Laye Stewart (Anthony), Ronnie Laye (Lisa), Headland Laye and Doug Laye; his sister-in-law Gail Laye of Columbus, GA; his grandchildren, Ron Laye (Kalli), Ranah Dozier (Mitch) and Hannah Strength (Jon); his great grandchildren, Annie Laye, Griffin Laye, Owen Laye, Addison Laye, Ansley Kate Drummond, Mary Knox Dozier and Jay Dozier; and also Dothan.
