He was predeceased by: his parents, James Lamar and Lillian L. Brooks; his son Harrell Eugene Brooks; and his siblings, Lillian Aline Hadley, Laura J. Johnson, Flora L. Hadley, Mattie S. Johnson, William Lamar Brooks, James Edward Brooks and George S. Brooks.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Brooks of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Gary C. Brooks of Texas, Michael Allen Brooks of Washington, DC and Hailey Anniece Brooks of Bay Minette, AL; his sisters, Mary K. Hadley of Fish River, AL and Tina Elaine Stringfellow of Pearl, MS; his grandchildren, Deviney Smith, Stephen Robinson, Brandon Kelly, Michael Brooks and Madilyn Walker; and his great grandchildren, Ryan Snider, Katelyn Smith, Elijah Snider and Ali Robinson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
