He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Herbert Nix, Jr. and Nola Bozeman Nix; his brother John Perry Nix; and his pet Chasse. He is survived by: his wife Molly Claudette Steele Nix of Bay Minette, Alabama; his children, Molly Suzanne Nix Barnett (Randal) of Atmore, Alabama and Claude Allen "Kip" Nix, Jr. (Debra) of Bay Minette, Alabama; his brother Michael Leon Nix (Airey) of Arley, Alabama; and his granddaughters, Audrey Nix Scholz (Robert), Molly Barnett Tate (Corey), Mattie Nix and Megan Nix. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Alabama State Veterans Cemetery (34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, AL 36577).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The State of Alabama Department of Veteran Affairs, 100 North Union Street, Suite 850, Montgomery, Alabama 3104, or to the North Baldwin Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 190, Bay Minette, Alabama 36507.
