He was predeceased by: his former wife Marie Graham Stewart; his siblings, Genevieve Cates and J. L. "Jim" Stewart; his son Tommy Stewart; and his parents, Ira Jackson and Hattie Elizabeth Phillips Stewart.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey L. Cooper Stewart of Bay Minette, AL; his children, Mike Stewart of Bay Minette, AL, Chuck Stewart of Phillipsville and Susan Sanders of Wetumpka, AL; his sister Mary Kay Weekley (Webb) of Pensacola, FL; his stepchildren, Patricia Gilliam (Lee), Carl Stewart (Margaret Ann), Joanne Paul (Hank), Anthony Stewart (Pat), Lisa Crowe (Mark) and Ronnie Stewart (Sarah); his grandchildren, Krista Wike (Aaron), Kandace Mosley, Kahalley Stewart and Ana-Marie Sanders; and his great grandchildren, Alayna Mosley, Stokley Bennette-Stewart, Mahayla Thompson, Memphis Thompson, Tyson Puckett and Skylar Marie Phillips. He is also survived by many step grandchildren and other relatives.
