He was predeceased by: his wife Francis Geist; his daughter Virginia Geist; his parents, Homer Geist and Maude Geist; his brothers, Ellis and Norman Geist; his grandson James Watkins; his great grandchild John Ross Watkins; his daughter-in-law Kathy Geist; and his great-nephew Aaron Geist.
He is survived by: his sons, Tony Geist and Kenneth Geist (Marilyn); his sister-in-law Ann Teal; his grandchildren, Tim Watkins (Kimberly), Mike Geist (Lisa), Shaina Gay (Trey) and Amanda Geist; his great grandchildren, Wesley Watkins (Brooke) and Austin Rouse; and his great great grandchildren, Trent, Cade Watkins, Molly Geist, Westin and Tatum Watkins.
