He was predeceased by: his parents, John Delma Hixon and Annie Brabham Hixon; his wife Elizabeth Claire "Betty" Dickinson Hixon; his sister Mildred Hixon Renfroe; his brothers-in-law, Max Renfroe and Ed Salter; and his brother Edwards Hixon.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Wise (Layne) of Troy, Beth Collier (John) of Troy and Billy Hixon (Laura) of Banks; his grandchildren, Tyler Wise (Lacy) of Homewood, Emily Claire Wise of Mountain Brook, Brock Collier of Birmingham, Sam Collier of Troy, Hanna Hixon Jordan (Brandon) of Troy, Ross Hixon (Amy) of Banks and Rush Hixon of Troy; and his great grandchildren, Knight Wise, Hixon Jordan and Brooks Hixon.
