He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cephus and Bessie Dawkins; and his siblings, Shellie Anderson and Merle Kelly. He is survived by: his children, Chase Dawkins and Mandy Dawkins; his granddaughter Kayla Dawkins; his sister Jill Jordan; his sister-in-law Shirley Anderson; and his pet Maggie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; several great nieces and nephews, friends.

Instead of flowers memorials may be made to the Troy Animal Rescue Project or the Enon Cemetery Fund.
