It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sara Kinney McDonald of Auburn, Alabama, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Sara may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sara touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her father Howard B. Kinney (Sara J. Kinney); her sister Helen A. "Betsy" Kinney; and her mother Sara J. Kinney of Montgomery, AL.. She is survived by: her children, Laura M. Beene (Eric) of Burke, VA and Howard A. McDonald (Nancy) of Auburn, AL; and her grandchildren, Patrick Beene of Chestertown, MD, Michael Beene of Franklin, MA, Blair DeRuiter (Alex) of Auburn, AL and Lauren Patterson of New York City, NY..
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Auburn United Methodist Church (137 S Gay St, Auburn, AL 36830). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Founder's Chapel at Auburn United Methodist Church (137 S Gay St, Auburn, AL 36830).
