He is survived by: his spouse Chris Cooper; his children, Thomas (Andrea) and Dabney (Michael Hannay); his grandchildren, McKenna Huggins, Layne Huggins and Avelyn Huggins; his sisters, Lydia Schmalz (late Howard) and Lisa Wilson (Peter); and his nephews, Philip Schmalz, Matthew Wilson, Andrew Wilson and Peter Wilson, Jr..
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Peter to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Auburn, Alabama or the Spencer Cancer Center in Opelika, Alabama.
