She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Gordon Pettis and Gwen Pettis; her husband Charles B. Colburn; her grandmother Lucille; her daughters, Susan (Hak Cheng), Amy and Marsie of Texas; her brother Lewis "Mike" Pettis; her niece Jodie Huntsman; and also Nick. She was also cherished by ses children and grandchildren.
After a long and happy life of 92 years, Joan was admitted to the health care system in early March after a fall, and in the weeks that ensued, was unable to escape the pandemic.
