He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Melton Chesnutt; and his parents, Uriah Chesnutt and Annie Mae Chesnutt. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Wilson Chesnutt of Auburn; his sons, James Chappell Chesnutt (Chip) of Montgomery and John Russell Chesnutt (Pam) of Montgomery; his grandson Jarrett Russell Chesnutt of Auburn; his brother-in-law James Russell Melton (Jan) of Wetumpka; his niece Natalya Grantham (Michael) of Deatsville; and his children, Harlie Lynn and Isabella Marie Grantham.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the General Memorial Fund of Grace United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 3125, Auburn, Alabama 36830.
