He was predeceased by: his father William Sexton; and his sister Patty. He is survived by: his wife Linda Sexton; his children, Vickie Sexton Evans (Roy), Kevin Sexton (Vicki) and Melissa Sexton Nowell (Terrance); his grandchildren, Aaron (Emily), Reganna, Holden, Riley, Phoebe and Brody; his great grandchildren, Faelyn and Caleb; and his sisters, Eleanor "Elle" Roberts and Carol Sue "Suzie" Hitchings.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Jims' name to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.
