He is survived by: his wife Ruby Maddox Cole of Auburn, AL; his children, LaCarlos Maddox of Detroit, MI, Angie Wright (Daniel) of Auburn, AL and Robert Smith of Opelika, AL; his stepson William Maddox of Anniston, AL; his sisters, Evette Jackson (Jackie) of Cincinnati, OH, Iris Jordan of Huntsville, AL and Linda Jordan (Benson) of Birmingham, AL; his siblings-in-law, Christine Mitchell (Willie) of Mont Clair, NJ and Charlie Maddox, Jr. of Auburn, AL; his friend Larry Hill of Columbus, GA; and his cousins, Collate Barnes, Andrew Neloms, Jr. (Shondra), Henry Lee Reese, Bobby James Reese, Ella Mary Williams, Faye Neloms and Kyle Neloms (Carrie). He is also survived by grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
