He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles'Charley'William Chambers and Lois Elizabeth Chambers (Stubbs); his grandparents, Charles, Laura Chambers and Nancy Stubbs; his parents-in-law, Grady and Vera McCarthy; his siblings, Jackie Chambers, Pat Chambers (Freida), Wayne Chambers (late Patsy), Nancy Chambers, Sylvia Latham (Bobby), Judy Topazi (late Charles) and Betty Sue Motley (late Joe Herald); and his siblings-in-law, Milton McCarthy (late Jean), Ellen Dean McCarthy, Eloise Griffin (late George), Sarah Ruff (late Lee) and Brenda Smith (late Sonny).

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Chambers; his daughters, Cheryl Hand (Richard) and Holly Reeves (Mike); his grandchildren, Matthew Hand (Danielle), Katie Fulks (Garath), Elizabeth Hand, Richie Hand (Hannah), Julia Hand, Mary Margaret Hand, Nicholas Hand, Andrew Reeves (Ariel) and Anna Reeves; his great grandchildren, Camille, Matthew, Gwyneth, Felicity, Benjamin and Richie; and his brothers, Charles'Oscar' Chambers Jr. (Libby), James'Barney' Chambers (late Mylene), Don Chambers and Teddie Chambers (late Amy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
