He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Ford (Jonathan) and Jason Battles (Vanessa); his grandchildren, Ella, Alex Ford, Mason and Caleb Battles; his sister Deborah Battles Golden; and his siblings-in-law, Danny Golden, Donald McClendon, Annie Lee McClendon Cannon, Melba McClendon, Dorothy McClendon and Eunice McClendon. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
