He was predeceased by: his parents, Buford Lawrence Phillips, Sr. and Evelyn Virginia Carr Phillips; and his grandparents, Oscar Lawrence Phillips and Jewell Humbard Phillips. He is survived by: his siblings, Buford Lawrence Phillips Jr., Joy Phillips Carmack and Susan Phillips Pigg; his nieces, Alicia Phillips Nielsen and Tiffanie Pigg; and his nephew David Carmack.
