He was predeceased by: his parents, Bill Harp and Margie Harp; and his parents-in-law, Raven and Geraldine Baty. He is survived by: his wife Billie Baty Harp; his children, Josh Harp (Valerie Arnold), Veronica Benefield Krapf (Glenn), Stephanie Benefield, Elizabeth Benefield Battle (Jeffrey) and April Benefield Johnson (Scott); his grandchildren, Ethan, Nathan Krapf, Erin, Lana Cirulli, Lucy, Hudson Battle, Hunter Benefield (Megan Cook), Emma, Elijah, Ella Paige Johnson, Graham and Grady Harp; and his siblings, James Harp (Barbara), Bobby Harp, Martha Jones, Dean Battles and Linda Brown.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Northeast Alabama Kidney Association, The Gideons or 12th Street Baptist Church.
