It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lillie Hazel Washington of Attalla, Alabama, who passed away on December 7, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Wallace, Jr. and Ida Mae Powell; and her sons, John Washington, Jr. and Jerry Washington. She is survived by: her grandsons, Jonathan McCloud, Darren Price and Terry Washington; her children, Mary Hand, Norma Regina Jackson, Sabrina Whiteside (Van), Melvin Washington (Bertha), Leonard Washington and Monica Washington; her brother Norman Harkness (Janetta); her goddaughters, Theresa Rice, Erma Davis, Gwendolyn Barkley and Doris Broom; and her caregiver Elsie Gibbs. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren.
