He was predeceased by: his wife Judy S. Alverson Horton; his mother Sue Kelley Horton; and his sister Wanda Silvey Simpson. He is survived by: his sons, James Michael Horton (Renee) and Darrell Shane Horton (Loretta); and his grandchildren, Katelyn, Cheyenne, James "JD" Horton, Joshua Callahan and Christina Erwin (Dylan). He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
