He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Holdbrook and Lorene Holdbrook; his stepmother Ola Holdbrook; and his sister Sue Hyatt. He is survived by: his wife Laverne Holdbrook; his daughter Wendy Owens; his son-in-law Eric Owens; his granddaughter Briley Owens; and his sisters, Mary Ann Riley, Shelby Bradley, Linda Story, Carolyn Battles, Sara Battles and Judy Holdbrook. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund.
