He was predeceased by: his parents, Hosie Shelton Nichols and Flossie Viola Floyd Nichols; his siblings, Kenneth Ray Nichols, Alden James (AJ) and Lorine Marilla Nichols Gowens (Hugh); and his grandson Mahlon Curtis Messer Nichols.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Whittemore Messer Nichols; his children, William Keith Nichols, Karen Elaine Nichols Rhodes (Eddie) and Kathy Leola Nichols Meadows (Richard); his grandchildren, Matthew Nichols, Melonie Nichols Rueger, Allison, Jordan, Riley Rhodes, Jacob, Will and Luke Meadows; his great grandchild Grayson Elijah Rueger; his siblings, Jessie Jack Nichols (Patsy), Norma Nichols Engle Morgan and Donna Mae Nichols Smith; and his sisters-in-law, Grace Whittemore Jordan, Doris Whittemore Collier and Betty Ward Nichols.
