In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Martin Eby had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Martin Eby may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Gehman and Sarah Gehman (Eby); his wife Vernie Lee Gehman (Barnhill); and his son Randy "Dale" Gehman (Darlene). He is survived by: his brother Jacob Gehman; and his children, Ephrata, Martin Gerald "Jerry" Gehman (Faith), David Wayne Gehman (Shyrell), Joseph "Joe" Lynn Gehman (Rhonda) of Pelham, Ala. and Martha Elaine Gehman Gookin (Todd). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and to 18 beautiful great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home (9260 US-31, Atmore, AL 36502). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Unity Baptist Church (10310 US-31, Atmore, AL 36502).
