With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie Barlow Alston of Atmore, Alabama, who passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Marie departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Marie may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Marie leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Barlow and Clara Bell Barlow; her husband Robert "Bob" Alston; and her son Jerry Alston (Debbie). She is survived by: her sons, Larry Robert Alston (Dianne) and Sam Alston (Beth); and her grandchildren, Angie Huff, Crysti Alston, Christina Platt, Hayden Minshew, Angela Alston Brown and Jerry Bradford Alston. She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Atmore (310 S Main St, Atmore, AL 36502). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
