He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joe Pierce Sr. and Carlee Rabb Pierce; his former spouses, Doratha Rodgers and Jay Meek; his wife Christi Shelton; his children, Rachel, Madgalene, Zedia, Jim, Sallie Mae, Annie Mae, Chester, Solomon (Living), George, Marie and Gladys (Living); his grandfathers, George Byron Pierce and Reed of Old Texas; his friends, Theodis Williams (Bo), Willy Dukes, Gilbert Walls, Charles Agee, Wayne Drew and Tim VanRee; his caregiver Jennifer Haskew; and also Lois Smith. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
