She was predeceased by: her parents, Jackson Lafayette and Thelma Viola Bratcher Sharpless; her husband Bruce Smith; and her siblings, Waldine Sharpless Argroves, Joyce Sharpless Hogg and Carlton Prescott Sharpless.

She is survived by: her children, Bruce Ladon Smith of Atmore, AL and Anita Mancil of Atmore, AL; her siblings, Jack Sharpless (Betty) of Robinsonville, AL, Ronnie Sharpless (Margaret) of Gautier, MS, Lynn Sharpless Fralick of Walnut Hill, FL and Brenda Sharpless Cruce (David) of Loganville, GA; her grandchild Scottie Smith (Dodi); her great grandchildren, Cain Smith (Haley), Britni and Hannah Smith; and her grandchildren, Emma, Legend, Brooklyn, Paityn, Annistyn, Kelli Houston (Curt), Valerie Rolin (Waylon), April Stewart (Billy) and Crystal Mancel. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren and many family and friends.
