Mildred E. Fleming Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mildred E. Fleming of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Mildred may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mildred touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruel Wilkinson Stewart, Jr. and Pearlie G. Carter Green; her husband Roy D. Fleming; her sons, Michael Dewayne Green and Jonathan "Tiny" Stewart Green; her granddaughter Megan Danielle Green; and her brother Ruel "Wick" Wilkinson Stewart, III.
She is survived by: her children, Angela D. Greene (Kent), Gerald "Dexter" Green, Sandy Ladon Green and Dianne Fleming (Nathan); and her sister Liz Yarbrough (Tony). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home (322 US-31, Athens, AL 35611). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
