With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ellen Kirkpatrick of Athens, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 6, 2024 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Mary shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Mary farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Cunningham and Jessie Cunningham; and her siblings, David Cunningham, Louise Cunningham and Dorothy Meeker.
She is survived by: her daughters, Georgia Kirkpatrick Joyner (Juan) of Huntsville and Muriel Kirkpatrick Wells of Athens; and her grandchildren, Eric Wells, Lindsey Wells Wallace and Angela Joyner. She is also survived by two greatgrandchildren.
A reception was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hazel Green Funeral Home (13921 US-231, Hazel Green, AL 35750).
