With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joel Kenneth Alford of Athens, Alabama, who passed away on September 24, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Joel Kenneth shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Joel Kenneth farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Houston Alford and Millie Kilpatrick Alford; and his brother Ray Alford. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Simmons Alford; his sisters-in-law, Pat Howell Alford of Samson, AL and Doris Simmons Barley of Webb, AL; and his grandchildren, Grace Hearn and Jack Hearn. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and other adopted nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ashford City Cemetery (920 N Broadway St, Ashford, AL 36312).
