She was predeceased by: her husband Jay Fred Gernert; her parents, Edward Fredrick and Francis Wunderlich Yeager; and her siblings, Carol Kneff and Robert Yaeger.

She is survived by: her children, Kim Kitzler (Jeff) of Atlanta, GA, Eric Gernert (Jill) of Athens, AL, Keith Gernert (Alesia Spann) of Danville, AL and Kathleen "KJ" Wilson (Buddy) of Madison, AL; her grandchildren, Jeremy Gernert (Whitney), Nonie Mefford (Davis), Zachariah Kitzler, Micah Kitzler, Deborah Kitzler and Caleb Lewsaw; her great grandchildren, Zoey Gernert and Kasen Gernert; and her siblings-in-law, Eugene Kneff of St. Louis, MO and Shirley Yeager of St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Red Cross or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
