She was predeceased by: her father Herbert Newby; her grandmother Sanderson Newby; her husband Charles Turner; and her siblings, Mary Wilma Bailey (Tony Bailey), Pryor Newby, Milton Newby, Virgil Newby, Harold Newby and Rowe Martin Newby.
She is survived by: her sisters, Vera Haley of Decatur and Joyce James; her children, Karen Turner Gilbert (John Gilbert) and Keith Turner (Cathy Turner); and her granddaughter Alisa Courtney Seeley (Michael Seeley). She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
