She was predeceased by: her parents, Reverend Herbert Hernandez and Dominga Hernandez; and her son Mark Fontanez. She is survived by: her husband Josue Fontanez of Athens Alabama; her children, Paul (Tamara), Rhoda, Leah, Noah (Stephanie) and Jonathan (Michelle); her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joshua, Matthew, Elijah, Rebekah, Deborah, David, Esther, Marion, Caleb, Noah, Mariah, Joseph, Bella, Jacob, Hanna, Gabriel, Lauren, Abigail, Andrew and Anna; her great grandchildren, Sadie, Gabriel, Daniel, Isaiah and Elliot; and her siblings, Gladys, Franciso, Ramon, Eliseo, Samuel, Virginia, Doris, Lourdes, Herminio and Esther.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McConnell Funeral Home (1200 E Forrest St, Athens, AL 35613). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
