With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Blanche Baker Kirkland of Athens, Alabama, born in Chevrolet, Kentucky, who passed away on August 26, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Randall Baker and Evelyn Thompson Baker; her husband Manness McComas "Mickey" Kirkland; her son John Michael Kirkland; and her sisters, Carolyn Hastings and Mary Morgan.
She is survived by: her sons, Max Kirkland (Erin) and Mark Kirkland (Alice); her grandchildren, Ellison Kirkland, Cameron Kirkland (Tabatha), Logan Kirkland (Caroline), Ashley Sherwood (William), Connor Kirkland and Maddie Grace Kirkland; and her great grandchild Magnolia Sherwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Food Bank of North Alabama or Athens Limestone Animal Shelter.
