She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Edward and Lula Patterson Kirby; her husband Bill Carlisle; her son John Pettie; and her sisters, Rebecca Clutts, Evelyn Lambert and Lois Dean Bates.
She is survived by: her children, Robert "Eddie" Pettie (Beverly), Allyson Baker (Loyd), Phillip Pettie (Kim) and Susan Mitchell (Jimmy); her grandchildren, Leah, Mark, Alyssa, Meredith, Brent and Matt; her great grandchildren, Alex, Grayce Ann, River, Tobi, Zadie, Tillie, Norah Kate, Jula and Henry; and her sister Gwen Baugher. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
