She was predeceased by: her parents, Sanders Griffin and Alice Davis Griffin; her grandchildren, Meghan "Meggie" Baxter and Danny Lee Baxter; her siblings, Mary Tidmore, Sally Minatra, Bobby, Benny and Starlin "Shorty" Griffin; and her stepdaughter Dee McClanahan.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Baxter of Ashville; her children, Rebecca Buker (Steve) of Ft. Pierce, FL, Sherry Baxter (Tony) of Alexandria and Mickey Pinkston (Jeff) of Ashville; her stepson MSgt Keith Baxter; her grandchildren, Marine GySgt Michael "Boo" Baxter (Pamela) of Williamsburg, VA and Stewart "Pinky" Pinkston (Valerie) of Kalispell, MT; her great grandchild Elliana Baxter of Williamsburg, VA; her siblings, Raymond Griffin (Pat) of Ohatchee, Jimmy Griffin (Jan) of Southside, Margie Noah Chapman of Newnan, GA, Sandra Jean Bolton (Clyde) of Trussville, Helen Thomasson (Tom) of Atlanta, GA, Brenda Burke (Bruce) of Lawrenceville, GA and Deborah Vice of Gadsden; her close friend Tommy Jennings of Ohatchee; and her sister Joyce Thomas. She is also survived by seven step-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Baxter will be held in the future, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
